That's not my job!
I had a job during lockdown in 2020. With it being Covid, we couldn’t enter homes, but we would still visit jobs in the hope of fixing the equipment from the outside — the dish and cable — and looking at the TV through an open window.
I was called out to a job in Blackburn for a TV with no satellite signal.
I arrived and saw that a new dish and cable had been installed just a few days before. Luckily, the house had a large window I could really lean into to see the TV.
I did all my tests and there was absolutely nothing wrong. It was the perfect set-up.
So I asked again what was wrong with his TV...
He slowly walked towards me.
I backed out of the window, and he put his hands out and said:
“There is nothing wrong with the TV. I just wanted somebody to come and trim my fingernails.”
I felt sorry for him, but I absolutely did not cut his fingernails.
I did suggest someone for him to call though.
